Monday 9th May

After having the last two lessons off due to the bank holidays the girls knew they had some distance left to cover.  Most of the girls knew they had to at least cover over 5km in order for their score to be doubled to increase the chance of their team winning.  As a whole class they have covered 660.38 km, meaning they are at Goussainville, just 28 km outside of Paris.  After this lesson, the results are as follows:

4th Place:
Team: A, A, S and U
Total 29.48 km
Reached:  Loughborough

3rd Place:
Team: T, S, R and M
Total: 154.42 km
Reached:  Near Luton

2nd Place
Team: V, A, H and L
Total: 229.83 km
Reached: Brentwood

1st Place
B, J, H, S and J
Total: 268.65 km
Reached: Near Maidstone, Kent

Next lesson there will be a change to the rules to increase the chance of covering a greater distance.  New distances:
Over 4km  = Score doubled.
Over 6km = Score trebled.
Over 8 km = Score quadrupled.
Over 10km = multipled by 5
Lets see if this encourages the teams to think about the tactics they may wish to adopt, what machines will you use to get the highest distance in a short amount of time? Will you run or walk on the treadmill?  Think carefully girls as this may influence your chance of winning!!!

Well done once more girls for a great lesson.  There is only 38.82 km between 1st place and 2nd place, but who will get there first?????  To be continued.....

Monday 18th April - Session Three

On Monday the girls continued with their "Rat Race" to Paris.  We had some fantastic individual efforts gaining over 30km on their own.  As a whole class we are getting near Paris, they have travelled 552.21km getting to Saint-Quentin.  The team updated scores from this lesson are as followed:

4th Place:
Team A, A, S + U

Total = 25. 48 km
Reached = Coalville

3rd Place:
R, T, S, A + M

Total = 132.42km
Reached = Milton Keynes

2nd Place:
V, A, H + L

Total = 185.36km
Reached = Potters Bar

1st PLACE:
B, J, H, S + J

Total = 208.95km
Reached = Barnet Enfield

Well done to each group.  It is certainly getting close between the top 3 groups.  Unfortunately due to the two bank holidays we will have to resume with the rat race in three weeks.  When we come back we have 2 lessons left to see which team will win and which individual will get the furthest distance.  Have a good easter break and i look forward to seeing which team will triumph.

Session Two - Monday 11th April

The girls carried on working on their rat race to Paris,  at the beginning of the lesson the girls were told of their current position and where abouts they had managed to get to so far.  The girls had a fantastic second lesson.  Currently as a whole class they have accumulated 333.99km, this is the equivalent of having travelled down to Dover, ready to get the ferry over to Calais.  However it is not a whole class travel to Paris, it is a group effort.

Currently the positions are as follows:

4th Place

Team
A, A, S + U

Total = 21.48 km
Reached = Lougborough

3rd Place
Team
R, T, S, A, + M

Total = 63.30
Reached = Lutterworth

2nd Place
Team
V, A, H, L
 Total = 86.15 km
Reached = Daventry

1st Place
Team
B, J, H, S + J
Total = 163.06 km
Reached = Luton

Again girls another great lesson, keep working hard, remember if you get over 5km your score is doubled, over 7km your score is trebled and over 10km your score is quadrupled.  Lets hope we get over the English Channel next lesson when we continue to race to Paris.

Well done girls
See you next Monday

4th Place:

Team = A, A, S + U
Total = 13.41km
Reached = Near Lockington

3rd Place

Team = R, T, S, A + M
Total = 16.32 km
